How To: Install Xerox Drivers

In this entry - we will help you navigate the Xerox Support Portal to install the correct Xerox
Drivers on your computer. We will be using the Xerox Altalink C8045 as a reference point for
the download and installation of the correct Xerox Drivers.
LET'S BEGIN!
First things first -

on the internet that is looking for help.

Step 1
Open up a Google search window and type in Xerox MODEL NUMBER Driver Install
See picture for example. We are using a Altalink C8045 as our example to download the drivers.
Step 2
Click on the link that has " downloads " close to the end of the green link.
Step 3
Next step, you need to click on the associated product. DON'T FREAK OUT!
This is just asking you if you have the built in controller or the EFI Fiery Controller.
If you don't know - You probably just have the Built-in Xerox Print Controller
Step 4
Easy next step - Click to add the Smart Start - Driver Installer for your product. MAKE SURE
you download with the correct operating system and language. Those options for the driver should automatically populate, but understandably technology isn't always intuitive. Just be careful not to should on yourself.
Step 5
Run the installation package and follow the instructions.
We did not write out all of those steps in this blog entry because the Xerox Drivers package has
the steps already.
